StenGuns - November 18th, 2007 at 07:47 AM

Is there a stock plenum setup that can bolt on to a type 1?
Thanks
Rob

What carby will you be using ???

I've got a 44 Weber sitting there but I'm not sure to be honest.. Does the plenum have to suit the carb?
At this stage my engine builder is toying with CAD design to make one up.. To me it would seem quicker, faster, cheaper to buy a stock item to bolt into place.. I saw one on samba which intrigued me but not sure if it is right for my type 1 setup (fan shroud and positioning of generator into shroud). It looks a bit short in the stand to work.. What do you think mate? Remember, I'm no frickin genius with this.. I prefer to pilot and let someone else be the engineer!

Here is the samba link and a shot of the plenum.. It does say Type 1?

I think thats a stand n inlet for VW injection

you will have to bring the carby over you can run 2 seperat tubes to each throat but rin a balance line lower down that will take the effect of teh plenum

If you are using carburation (?) then you don't want a "plenum".

A plenum on a carbed inlet will cause havoc with the fuel suspended in air. The design principles of the 2 are almost completely different.
