does anyone know if its possible to bolt on a pre 67 bug body onto a superbug chassis- with all running gear, engine etc- or are they different sizes. or can you bolt on the better parts to the old chassis.
tell me if im dreaming or not!

A superbug has a STRUT front end lots of work fitting inner guard strut towers

you would be better off fitting it to a semi auto IRS / Ball joint front end pan this is quite easy with early bodies

different front ends mate

You can have a new frame head welded onto your super chassis to take a beam.
Labour cost will prob out weigh the cost of a semi auto chassis,
but this is what my drag car has.

Other than the front suspension and perhaps a rear body mount, it is the same bolt pattern.

the rear end / engine /gearbox isnt the problem as per above its the front end

Ive seen a few front bulkheads welded on it can be done

your on the money... they came out with the 1500cc series bugs, then onto the early 70's 1600cc.

all semi autos from begining of 71 were strut front end superbeetles as well
u couldnt get a standard bug semiauto once superbugs replaced 1500s in 12/70
