Hi Guy's
Wondering if anyone knows of any companies that sell or re upolster bucket seats with a 60's or 70's look but with removable headrests and lumbar
supports ? This is for a Kombi Bay Window base. I am keen to find something that is comfortable & had the head rest. Any help will be appreciated
thanks
Another thought is a company that re jigs the old seats with better foam & head rest inserts
hey love your avatar pic..is that bike yours? i used to own an 850 interstate...sigh...still the TLS1000 makes up for it i've got telstar ghia seats in my kombi...very comfy and i mounted the
passenger seat on a game fishing swivel base for loungeroom comfort when camping
Got a website for that mate or some pic's of your seats?
Yep She is a 8502a roadster which I pulled down to the ground and started re build with a new paint job of the frame and then started hemoraging money
from there. She is fine though.
How much height and front space difference did the did the telstar seats give?
My driver seat is pretty knackered, and really I wouldn't complain if something else was fitted. Just so long as my head isn't in the lining and /
or I'm forced into an uncomfortable position for operating the pedals.
That swivel seat setup. You don't have the front seat backpanel things then?
Yeah the seat height is a tiny bit higher but I put a false floor in anyway to level out the dip there...i hated the angle my foot was at on the gas
pedal i cut the cargo barrier out of the passenger side to
allow the seat to swivel...i know i'm going to be cursing when i eventually get blue plates for this
Best bet is the Jap import wreckers. there are a large choice of seast there and I generally take some measurements then go and see what they have that will fit with minimual mods. Most of the seast have lumbar, headrest adjustments.

Cheers for the info guys - I am doing the full bare metal resto on Ian's 65 11 window at the moment and have sourced some great seats (out of a BMW 3
series) - pictured here without the headrest in place.
May look at getting them reupholstered though (to match colour of the rest of the interior)....will see how we go $-wise.

Nice one mate, you now know the satisfaction of doing a job and doing it well! That is why I gave up my "day job" to do this full time - it is very
rewarding.

What has to be done to fit another seat?
Recently I remember hunting around for something on the web and seeing seat rails for a VW seat conversion and didn't really understand their
purpose.
Late bay drivers seats in good nick are as rare as platinum coated hens teeth, and that metal thing that runs around the top edge of the base is
broken in multiple places. So instead of just being uncomfortable like it should be, it does its best to impale. I welded it up in the past once, with
some fiery fun ensuing, but sometimes I think another seat would be nice.
