Hi,
I am wanting to rubber mount the EFI fuel pump (it is aftermarket injected) in my bug. The clamp is rubber lined, but I also want to use rubber
standoffs (just like the golf lower radiator mounts - Here) since the pump is mounted to
the front of the tunnel and I'd prefer not to hear any whirring.
I have previously bought some after market ones however the quality is questionable and they start breaking after a while. The mk1 Golf ones are
great but aren't the easiest to stumble across. So my question is - does anyone know of other car models that are a good source of rubber standoffs.
I have looked at the wreckers and can't seem to find anything. The closest is VL Commodore fuel pump mounts but they always seem to be yanked in
half. Any leads greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Peter
hey mate, i have some pretty good quality ones on my 58 and can't hear the pump whirling.
Give CBB in Penrith a call.
I got some a the local auto shop Robbos ... Repco or similar
6mm threads both ends about $31.00 for qty 4 off
dont think super cheap has them
yeh, mine are similar to vw54 - can't remember thread size though. May be easier then buying from CBB.
Blackwoods are the go.

Hi
V6 Commodores use a similar one on the air cleaner too body mount.
Steve
many european cars use them..
the control valve on a semi auto beetle has three of them..
Lee
Tooley imports have mounts similar to this, they mount the tray under the engine on T4 transporters and were reasonably priced.
Ended up picking up about 8 of the Commodore air cleaner rubber mounts for a steal at the wreckers - my version of recycling . Thanks for the tip Steve. Anyway being OEM I guess they will be better than most on the market, although the bonding doesn't look too good, who knows how long they'll last in a vertical mount (as opposed to there life horizontally mounted in the dunnydore). If they die than the Blackwood's ones should definitely do the job. Thanks for all the pointers guys...
The incessant hammering not good enough for you?
Seriously just want to know what you are mounting it to?
I want to re-mount an electric pump and am looking for better ideas where to put it.
Commodore air cleaner mounts every time for me. Cheap and available.
