Sadly the mechanical fuel pump in my 1600 72 bug shat inself today. Has anyone used an electric fuel pump on something similar or should i just replace the old one. Any imput appreciated. Thanks

id stick with the stock mechanical one personally, the only reason i change was the one for the t4 motor i fitted hit the body and couldnt be used. im now using a rotary pump from fuel misser.

the old KISS rule...

no need to complicate things, electric introduces too many hassles like power cut off in an accident, flow cut off so you dont fill the sump up with fuel and getting the pressure right

stock pumps will feed IDAs and cost alot less than an electric pump let alone relays, regulators etc ontop
