Aluminium Beams

Has anyone used or had anything to do with Aluminium Beams, just wondering on costs and if they are legal or not, and any other potential hassles/traps

CIP1.com have them:

"This all aluminum beam is commonly used in lightweight sand buggies and when installed will set the front suspension slightly lower then a stock original beam û the amount will vary based on the type and condition of the front suspension components used. Although we have had many customers install these beams into street cars for a ultra customer look- we does not recommend this. Please be advised that the added weight of a street car along with the demands of daily driving may cause premature stress cracking and breakage. FOR THIS REASON û THIS BEAM IS NOT TO BE USED FOR STREET & DAILY DRIVING APPLICATIONS. "

As it's a major suspension modification, they would only be legal with an engineer's report, and I imagine that would be difficult to obtain.
