Hi All, I need some advice.

I'm using a Type 3 Chassis for my Condor project. The engine is a 2.0l Fiat. There is not quite enough room in the rear for the radiator so I am putting it in the nose of the car. I have to take the car in to have the exhaust system made and I think they will be able to make a water system to run underneath the floorpan. The questions are:

Is there anything in particular I should ask for (is stainless steel neccesary)?

Can they use rectangular sections under the floor to increase ground clearance?

Will I just use a few rubber section to join the pipes to the motor and the radiator?

The connection at the motor and radiator are only about 35mm, will the water pipe be the same size?

Any advice or suggestions will be gratefully accepted. I'd especially like to hear from epople who have done this before and I can learn from any difficulties.

You could use steel tube (exhaust tube) if you want, it won't rust if you are running the correct coolant (at least not from the inside). I used exhaust tube when I put an EA82 in my LBug and had no problems with internal corrosion.

I used 1 1/4" (32 mm) line on that install, I did have cooling issues around town but this was due to radiator size and ducting rather than line size.

yeah we have combination of mild steel and soldered copper pipes in our datto-kombi.
we used a the next size up from the radiator
radiator is under the car and has 2 fans
painted the pipes with engine enamel so it doesn't surface rust from the outside lol

I was thinking if i should get flat mild steel 1" strips and we'd it on the pipes as a cooling fins lol but nah didn't go with that

maybe when you have your pipes bend try to have it in big pieces and removable
