baghall - May 2nd, 2010 at 09:32 AM
Hi guys,
Any advice on where to connect an oil temp sender unit on 1600 twinport. Am also installing an oil presure unit in the spot where the old pressure
sensor is.
Thanks

im going to assume that the engine is in one piece and in the car, otherwise id suggest drilling and tapping the sender in, so your two options are
the sump plug version and the replacement dipstick version.
the first replaces the sump plug and just screws in where as the second just slides in as a dipstick replacement.
vdo make a good version of both. i have only used the dipstick one though.

Hi
For the temp sender you can get your oil pressure relief valve plug drilled and tapped, its best to fit it into a metric nut and get a machinist bore
the hole in lathe.

dipstick wins it every time, sumpplug isnt as accurate, will read lower than actual oil temp
