I have finally started the work on my 1961 Ghia that I purchased as a one owner site unseen 7 years ago. This week I had it Soda Blasted and now all the fun part can begin. When I removed the front wheels , I found Disc brakes made by AKEBOND, does anyone know anything about them? I'll start a thread on the progress .
i'm sure they're a John Sherman kit......he's in QLD so you should be able to get pads etc off him. think you'll find the brand on the caliper is
just the calipers brand not the kits 'brand"

I had a set of those, i got them off Sherman in the early days and they use mazda caliper's, widened the track to far on my car and took them off in the end
akebono. and yeah, Talk to John Sherman. He's a good guy.
either mazda RX2 calipers or early mazda 323 RWD depending on the shape of the pad. The RX2 calipers have a larger piston area. The 323s had a smaller
piston.
I have them on my buggy and find they work quite well. In fact I went to the smaller 323 calipers to get a better front rear radius in the end. They
are not racing brakes, but they are pretty good for the street as long as the extra width is not an issue, and it's not for me.
Caused all type's of problem's on my car
