anyone done a mod where you could run a single wiper arm with an upgraded wiper motor for the front windscreen
i would like to do some time in the future, is it possible?
if not at least a better wiper motor system than what is standard as intermittent would be good too.

Hi
Depending on how critical your rego inspections are, you cant reduce the number of wipers that you have, I tried it with my engineer.
A good grease up on all the wiper shafts makes them work much better.
Joel has done some good posts on this subject.
Found this intermittent switch on the Hella site and bought one, they retail for about $100. Or visit the site http://db.hella.com.au/cgi-bin/catalogue.pl?flcmd=preview&flmaint=365 I have one on my sons bug, it works great.

What model bug is this for?
Lbugs work well with one wiper but flat screen bugs the screen is just too long and narrow so one wiper would leave atleast half of the screen unwiped
so you would have the boys in blue and pinkslip blokes on your case.
I had a mono wiper setup on my Lbug for a bit though and it actually worked really well cos I moved it to the LHD mounting hole and shortened the
crank arm to increase the sweep.
I had to go back to standard to get through the next pink slip.
It doesn't take much to get VW wipers working well, I'd rate mine up there with modern car wipers now.
All the bushings regreased, motor commutator sanded down, new brushes, and upgraded wiring and variable delay intermittent relay isn't hard to
adapt.
Lbug wipers stick to the screen at speed alot better than flat screen wipers.
