Need to get some 15" wheels for my Baja. At the moment it's 4 stud. Just wondering what stud pattern would be best for getting a larger range of wheels to pick from. Thinking of replacement rotors and drums for this........

Largest range of wheels stud pattern is 5 x 114.3mm (4.5inch) This is on a lot of Ford, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda and Mitsubishi vehicles.
You will get steel wheels in 15 or 16 inch diameter real easy from a Ford wrecker.
Get either 12mm studs or 1/2" studs. If you are getting steel wheels, you will be getting taper nuts, so either stud pattern will be fine if you get the taper nuts thread to suit. the studs

You can buy wheel adaptors that change the wheel pattern...

these would probably be OK with a Baja....

as they make 6 inch rims too wide for normal beetle guards...

Lee I think you'll find adapters are in the same category as wheel spacers, ie, illegal.
I went suzuki vitara 139.7 (also F150 and daihatsu 4x4s and have found that the sunrasias I bought don't actually clear the caliper. So now I am looking for another set of rims with deeper offset and angled spokes and am finding it frustrating as there is not a very large selection.
Find your wheels and then get a blank set of rotors and drums and drill them to suit. The ford pattern will definitely give you the largest range of wheels.

Adapters are illegal in QLD so you should check whether the same applies in NSW. You still can change you stud pattern to say Ford's but it'll cost you. I spoke to John Sherman on the Gold Coast yesterday and that is what he does (amongst other things) so you might wanna goive him a call (07 55 377 770).

many different stud patterns or buy blank with no holes...

but difficult to fit wheels to...lol

I believe adaptors and spacers are illegal in all states these days..

6x139.7 would be my choice for a baja.

That is all the common 4wd pattern, hilux, patrol, navara, triton, courier etc.
Rims with good tyres are always easy to pick up in that pattern.

I got a free set of sunraisers with good 31inch BF goodies for my 4wd, theres bargains like that on ebay all the time.

Be very carefull about fitting heavier rims to your car, any increase in unsprung weight will detract from the ride and handling, weigh any wheels that you are concidering buying so you can see if there is a major increase, steel wheels on four wheel drive's are much stronger and heavier and would be a overkill on a light car like a baja.
