Just bought my dream car, a '65 T34 Razor and looking to do some pan, suspension and engine work before the body. Have a few questions for those in
the know?
1. Can the body come off the pan to be repaired separately or should all rust repairs to the body be done whilst its still on the pan?
2. Seen lots about 944 Porsche suspension and brake upgrades, obviously it will stop a lot better but just wondering if the 944 suspension really
makes the handling that much better?
3. I've a 1.8 litre type 4 motor to put in, has anyone in Melbourne done this that I could have a little look at?
Thanks very much.
Soren
Hi Soren,
1. Yes pan comes off , good idea to brace the body ,
2. yes u can - i think that there are products that will be of equal quality and power available.
3 can be done and has been done.
Thanks, although all 3 responses dont answer the questions, appreciate your time though...
I would remove the body off the pan and do a full resto, 34s can be very rusty,
Are you lowering your car or intending to race it? 944 stuff can be costly and the people i know who have ventured down this path ended up going back
to swing axle or IRS.
1800 type 4 (Kombi or 914 spec?)... lot of work for not much more power, type 4 motors are great, nice and smooth, but i am a sucker for a type 3
motor
