A quick question....
Are type 3 disc calipers the same as kombi lowlight front disc calipers?

thanks in advance Binner

Also note there are two different calipers for type 3's. Until halfway through 71 the calipers were smaller and had less spacing between the two mount holes. From then until the end (including 72) the calipers have a wider spacing between the bolt holes (approx 3 inches) are physically larger, have 2 bleed screws per caliper and take different pads. They are also rare as rocking horse poo and I was quoted $700 for a new pair, but I doubt they new the difference between the two type 3 calipers. If you want to change to the smaller, more available earlier model you also have to change stub axels and backing plates. Rock and a hard place. I ordered a pair of rebuilt late Type 3 from the US:

and

The standard ones are interchangeable left or right because of the two bleed screws, but these only have one screw, so have to be matched to the side. hope this helps. Are you trying to put kombi calipers on a type 3 or vice versa?
