Our EJ22 has been "clack, clack, clack" sounding for a couple weeks.

I pulled the rocker / lifter assemblys out, and one of the intake hydraulic lifters has collapsed totally. I put a second hand set in, and it all works fine again. At least they are still a simple enough engine that it was an easy fix.
