a guy i know was toying with the idea of having a bit of a tinker with his fathers porsche. namely, replacing the sad little 1.7l engine with something a little more racey. he asked me today about a subaru twin turbo wrx engine transplant, and i suggested a 6cyl SVX swap, or a bored and turboed 2l kombi donk. could a watercooled engine be hooked up in a similar way to the beetle systems with radiator in front? any other suggestions? are these conversions do-able?

sorry i can't be more specific but there is a guy out there with a EJ20T powered 914, I can remember the site though. I'd stick with the 2L single turbo myself as the I'd be inclinde to keep the weight down whilst leaving room for simple power increases later.
