have any of you guys who have done a heart transplant in your bus had drama with not being able to get full throttle?
How do you overcome the drama of not getting enough cable pull to open the throttle all the way?
at the moment, I'm running on about 1/2 - 3/4 throttle, because when I stand on the loud pedal, it doesnt move far enough to pull enough cable.
the linkage behind the accelerator pedal hits the floor before the throttle is open all the way.
oh, it's in a '73 kombi
Yes, when I installed the type 4 engine, I found I was 15mm short in cable pull. However mine is a '68, so I'm surprised your having trouble
in a '73.
I extended the arm where the cable is attached at the front by the maximum amount - constrained by chassis. I also modified the "L" arm
below the pedal to get a bit more.
You could also adjust the arm length at the back if its easier and use a quadrant, as this should still allow fine movement small openings and large movements at full throtle.
think I may have the prob sorted.
I broke the pedal off it's hinge the other day from standing on it so hard.
some guy in a new laser thought he could beat me up the freeway. he he, now he knows better.
G'day-who supplied your donor transplant, was it another Wolfsburg product? Work out what you want for the bits-thanks
