Brad - April 8th, 2004 at 01:16 PM

nope, but why would you want an EJ22 T ??? You would be wrecking a good thing

kombi_kid - April 8th, 2004 at 02:31 PM

you can bolt on EJ20 ones easy enough, just change heads . Why not just go with an EJ20 T and get it all stock for about the same price ?

I dunno why you would want a turbo engine in a bus though, they are heavy carry loads.

Oh well each to their own I guess.

Guys I'm pretty sure there was never an EJ22T made......

Brad - April 8th, 2004 at 07:56 PM

I think you are confussed with the EJ20 which has the EJ20T and the EJ20TT. The EJ22 does not come in a twin turbo model stock. I have just checked this out. It did come in Turbo from 91 - 94 in the legacy but not avail is Aust.

The EJ20 is a 2L usually Quad cam in most Turbo models

Now Brad,

Never mind the 2 litre T IV this is sounding like a better option at this price.

I wouldnt want to commit until you had sussed out the flatter sump's tho, as I reckon thats about the only thing that makes it a bit of a turn off is the Sump hanging down so low.

How about making the Manifold and exhaust ??? Is there somewhere to go to do this sort of thing and not charge an arm and a leg.

Maybe I should come over and give you hand to fit the first few then pinch all your good ideas for the Ute :)

Cheers

Scotty

I have pulled a sump apart now and redesigned it to get 75mm of clearance back. This means I will loose 25 mm over a type 4 engine. Nopt to bad for more than double the horse power.

I have an exhaust guy and he is cool so cost ins't a real issue. I hope to have my Dad's camper running an EJ22 by no later than end of mid semmester break.

I was going to get DJ Mechanical to do it at $4000 drive in and out but now I have gone and reinvented the wheel and am back to doing it myself....
