JUst wondering if anyone knows how easy it would be to put a wrx motor into my bug.

I have a 1960 bug with a 1600 tp motor. Just thinking about down track about sticking in a fast motor.

yeah man. i made a thread about this. look down in the engine conversion page for a thread names "need help with ej20t conversion" the ej20t is the motor that was found in the wrx's aswell as liberty rs. have a look. it can be done but at a high price. but check out the thread. everything u need to know about it. including a price breakdown i believe?

check this place out.
It's in the U.K. I know, but it'll give you an idea of what can be done.

I am in the long process of putting an ej20tt in a 1956 Oval with a 901 5 speed. Had to move the trans and engine forward about 5" to fit under the engine cover.

If you can get the site to work. Loads very slowly. I spent many hours studying the site of veewrx.

To update on the Oval. The clutch is in and works, new fuel lines ran, working on the master cylinder for the brakes now. I purchased a used 944 cylinder on Ebay to go with the 944 brakes. It is bad and it is cheaper to buy a new one than to rebuild the old one. Another waste of time and money. I am using an hydraulic throwout bearing hooked to a set of swing peddles from an MG Midget. It seems to work. A friend is working on the wiring harness so hopefully I will get to fire it up someday.
