hopefully the finish is not too far now.. oil, water, fillpot, turbo gasket and check existing wiring, then install ecu thats already wired to the
factory loom. Put on gaurds etc and a polish, and its done....
here are a few pics from tonight...
motor....
note intercooler..
finally...
Good Stuff!
This is tonight
The engine has had the bolt drilled out that I snapped off last night(clutch bolt). My flywheel torque setttings were wrong and motor was pulled, as seen in the pic..it will be back in tomorrow...
Man I am tempted to do this !
oh man, sorry to hear Boof,
but keep going matey, the result is so worth it
I did the same thing....the torque value stated in my manual was incorrect just in the section I was reading. I managed to unwind it without having to
drill it out. Don't worry, I've heard the same story from a few people.
Good work there on the conversion.
I know its with the phone and very small but here is another from today....
hey man look awsome well done... hey nice areos mate!!
Check out the front...
and side.....
Hey boof, just wondering what you had to go through to legally put your car on the road?? Does it have to get an engineering cert.??
Cheers,
Mikey
PS By the way, looks awesome. Hopefully my 56 will have the EJ20T that I just bought in it soon. Might hit you up for some advice :P
Mikey,
IF they let you do it at all, you can ABSOLUTELY guarantee that the old codgers at TransportSA will require an engineers report on your bug if you
want to put that engine in it.
They will let me put a NA EJ25 SOHC in my 1990 Syncro without such a report, but not a DOHC version of the same engine!!!!!
The difference in HP in miniscule and torque on the DOHC is much peakier but jesus, they really need to get a life!!!
Andy
We are required to get an engineers report.
The car already has 4 wheel discs and suspension mods.
It will also have a cross/trapeeze type support bar between the rear inner gaurds. This will support the forks of course. We have been told that there
will not be too many probs as far as engineering as the cars have already been modified in the other areas.
Matt
Last pic I will post till it is racing up and down the street!!!
I promise..

The lenses look cool. Are you on the road yet?
Squiz....
Hopefull next week. Just need to wire in the ecu and put in a battery.....
Matt

You gonna love all that power Boof!
Later
Popped into Jaks today...he took me for a spin around the block...alot of times.
Car is only getting 1/2 throttle.....all I can say is that one minute your rolling along in first and in a click of your fingers he is on the brakes
at the end of the street.
I'm excited!
I had a look at this car yesterday , It looks awesome!
STI turbo ,aftermarket up pipe ,custom intercooler piping , it looks hardcore. This car will be an absolute weapon when running .....heaps of power
and a light non-strut shell. Very cool.
Well if my brother is getting high 12's with standard ratios in stock RS powered Notch....Jak has to be looking a low 12's surely? Maybe
lower....
And all in a true daily driver/weekend warrior!
FFFFAAAAARRRRKKKKK!
I so wish I did this 6 years ago when I first thought of it....Instead we did my brothers Notch!
A much EZR conversion in a Notch I might add!
Hey Matt,Jako seems horny over his subie,so what sort of hps do you reckon you might get out of yours? JVLRacing
Hey Boys,
My Job is done....and on thursday night there is a pretty good chance it will be racing up the street with a laptop plugged in!
I am on a job till thursday lunch and the ecu just needs plugging in.
Here are some propper pics....
