EJ 22 in a Super (1303)

subaruboxer - January 11th, 2005 at 05:32 AM

The blue bug is a super (1303) with EJ20T out of a Subaru Legacy and Porsche 915 trans. The owner tuned it to 280 HP.

What is the tank(clear plastic) in the top right of the engine bay?
Radiator overflow?

rustycamper - January 11th, 2005 at 03:39 PM

That thing would be fun to drive.

subaruboxer - January 11th, 2005 at 05:26 PM

Hi fozee,

yes you are right it is the radiator overflow reservoir of a Rabbit 4.

And here the green bug with EJ 22 again a bit smaller.

humpty - January 11th, 2005 at 11:52 PM

Great stuff that.....

Seems to be a good fit (read: tight!) in the early cars!!!!!

One day....Maybe after the EG33/Bus project! :thumb

This was my question to, plus how are they running their pipe work to avoid the steering / suspension arms in the super beetles (especially the steering box style 1302)

Cheers

Jak took his straight to the his muffler friend who put it on the hoist and ran pipe inderneath from the radiator straight to the motor, bends and all. Mine uses flexible stainless hose that runs inside the arch bolted to the body(rubber mounts). Just inside the running boards I too have hard pipe, the flexible is at either end.

Ummm - Drag bug, it's got something to do with the name at the top of the page "Non VW Engine Conversions" repeat NON VW.
Either you're being sarcastic or you're on the wrong part of the site.
All said in the nicest possible way of course.

Andy.

Brad - February 1st, 2005 at 07:50 PM

hey dragbug you wanna build me a 140 HP VW engine for under $5000 ???:kiss

dragbug - February 1st, 2005 at 07:54 PM

Let me know when you want me to start.

subaruboxer - September 21st, 2005 at 05:01 AM

My latest find it is the project car of Martin Bott, yes the man behind bugat5speed.de in Germany.
Looks really good!

subaruboxer - September 21st, 2005 at 05:10 AM

With all his special parts, like his header his oilsump and Porsche trans and shifter for the Prosch trans. Nice car isn't it? Reminds me of Jak Rizzo's ej20t powered bug, but this is an ej 22.
