EJ 20 / 22 / 2.5 ?
arent they all the same?
yes i believe they are all the same and i would take one that fitted any of th EJ motors
i may be able to fabricate my own flywheel but hav'nt worked out the adaptor plate yet
any idea how to make my own?
yep !
i thought i read somewhere that you had made your own ,SEAGULL.am i wrong?
yes thats correct , I will trace the plate and send it to you in the post u2u your post address , seagull
Making your own ist straight forward
I had the bolts from the bell housing ( subaru ) I machined the heads of the bolts off to a sharp point , all the bolts to the same lenth .These
screwed into the subaru motor sharp end pointing out .
I found a peice of bright chrome shaft ( strut from a super bug ) machined a spigot on one end the size of the input shaft on the subi crank shaft
.
Placed this end into my subaru motor .
I then got my adapter plate ( ally ) and drilled a hole in the center the od of the shaft ( firm fit )
Placed the ally plate on the shaft and slid it down so the plate was sitting on the sharp pionts of my ( cut down bolts )
Then with some one holding the motor & the ally plate I then got a rubber hammer and gave the plate a tap on the position of the bolts .
removed the plate and had my bolt centers marked for a subaru motor .
I them machined the spigot out for the vw gear box on my ally plate fitted that to the vw gear box and marked those holes with a pointed rod going
through the vw box on to the ally plate .
how did it fit
