Anyone done this conversion in a kombi? im having trouble with my cooling system! any tips? i have 2 alfa romeo radiators one mounted underneath with
alloy scoop! and the other in engine bay ( both with thermo fans) 5-10 meters of piping roughly!
Thinking of big ears and some fans to get more hot air out of the engine bay! ANd a heater exchange box with a electric water pump running another
radiator running cool water! ???
engine 4.4 ltr
standard water pump!
twin exhaust come out just in front of the rear tyres

A mate of mine had a V8 Capri that used to overheat, he ended up changing the pulley on the water pump to a larger one to SLOW the water flow. This gave the water in the radiator more time to cool down.
Hi mate sorry for not replying to your email was away on holidays.first check your thermostat buy a cooler running one they are cheap and easy enough
to install,if you are still having problems install a davies craig (spelling) electric water pump mid way along your water pipes and if the problem
persists go to a single bigger radiator, one that was designed for a v8. You will find the Leyland water pump was not designed to push water that far,
say all up 20 feet it was designed to only push water 2/3 feet max ,if you check out vwtype2’s radiator set up you will see it is easy to set up and
looks great too
Hope this helps
Any more questions let us know

here's a pic of my rad.
it's from a hx holden, and has a thermo fan on the back.
the thing I like best about it is tou can't see it from above.
another.
you can see how it fits nicely between the chassis rails.
this duct directs air through the rad

picks up through this vent.
keeps this nice and cool
and still looks standard from the outside, so as not to give the game away.
done pretty much exactly the same thing! yours looks good too! umm but my water pump is deffinately pushing the water through! i will buy an electric one to i think though and just a bigger core in the same radiator! does buying a lower temp thermostat work or is it better just to remove it completely! ???
Hey everyone i may sell my conversion if anyone wants it just u2u me and we can discuss it!
leyland v8 4.4 litre 230hp-250hp Hot cam! with the standard gearbox and starter motor! Adaptor plate so forth! mounts radiators pipes and so forth!
cold cranking compression is above 185 on all cylynders! Brand new not rebuilt garaged for 20 years! Marinised then sold to my work after 40 hours
work! i unmarinised it and have had it in my car for around 2 months hardly driven due to not wanting to damage the motor because of cooling prob!
anyhows cheers!
One issue I had when I had my v8 kombi (which is now wacked1's) - it used to have the 3.5L (I think, either that or the 4.4L) rover / leyland v8 in
it, was the suction hose of the water pump 'sucking in' and reducing in area - thus not putting enough water through the lines.
This was fixed by putting a spring inside the rubber hose to stop it collapsing.
This might be worth checking.
