I'm thinking about putting a heater in my buggy soon. Don't have bug heater ducts any more so I'll have to run pipes up to the fan unit under the dash, what do people use for a heater tap?

I was thinking a big brass ag type tap and put the pipework under a false floor on the passengers side. any other idea?

Alot of older cars have simple three way taps operated by cable (I got mine from an old accord ) open and you have water flow, close and the water returns to the cold side of your radiator piping.

fords have a simple through tap on one side of heater piping ,only drawback vacum operated but that could be overcome

I've got no heater channels, but I think I have an idea for something.

I did use the heater channels, but you can just run the lines up the front to a heater core. I used a rear Toyota Troppy one for my car. Also check how Subaru used their tap, some cars need to bypass past the tap and others can just be shut off.

Kombi I just ran the hot water to a heater core under the dash and boxed it up with a couple of fans.

what motor are you using Rennwagen?

It was an ea81 in a bay ute I didnt do the conversion but I did put the heater in both the tap and the core were out of an old honda accord that died of rust. I also got all the control cables and used the solid wire one to push/pull the tap with a switch for the fans.

The suby EJ motors need to have the water flowing in the heater circuit at all times. If you look in the Suby manual you'll see that they control the heater function by controlling the air flow through the heater core, NOT by controlling the coolant flow.
