What sort of clutch does every-one use, with the EJ conversion
Kombi clutch 215 mm or 228 mm for EJ 20 and EJ22.

Hi
Im going to use a 200 mm stage 4 Kennedy, had no luck with 228s, slipped one from a Syncro in turbo WBX, the 228 needs major clearncing to fit a type
1 box.
The 215, last one I had was custom made buy Race clutch in Qld, cost lots of money and if I had a problem the clutch would need to get sent back to
QLD every time, Kennedy you can buy anywhere.
Steve
I've got a standard german 215mm sachs clutch kit behind an early EJ25 quadcam. It's never slipped once it was adjusted properly.
BTW, Kimm at indian automotive was telling me he has a new setup for 215mm clutches that utilises the standard 215mm friction plate (to keep it
smooth) but a different pressure plate. He was having issues with a factory supercharged holden (buick) V6 in a twin cab kombi, but this new setup is
apparently really good. He used to swear by 200mm clutches for the same reason as Steve, but he reckons this new setup is the ducks guts.

2300 kennedy Clutch with hydraulic set up fantastic! (Subie power)
JVLRacing
JVL,
what gearbox are you using and how did you set up your linkage?
Hi Pete, LBox gutted and fitted with Straight Cuts Alban Gears. 3.88:1 Quaife diff,Porsche 944 CVs, USA Swayaway axles. The hydraulic set up using Pbr cylinder, Turning the clutch arm flat with cylinder pushing down on arm (maybe a bit hard to understand but very easy to set up) When driving with this set up i dont harderly press all the way down to get a change of gear.Almost like driving a sequential gearbox.JVLRacing
sounds sweet jvl, is the car all sorted for racing now?
Not really Pete,I have adeal ready to go but money and thumb prints on my 4 head are hard to over come.Ther will be achange to the motor as well, just
to make it a little more racie.JVLRacing
Every time I mention an aftermarket ECU and a set of cranky cams, I get a cranky look from someone....
But I'll get there eventually.
What class are you going to be racing in?
Pete, i would of loved to do the Transam Sportsedan racing. It cost to run that type of event is mind blowing.Iam aiming now to do the Porsche Car Club
Supersprint events.I did two events; last year but had reliability problems(electrical, computer ecu). The car is still pretty green. It still will need
more sorting out.Just want to at least knock of those GT3s. Then the NSW State Supersprints. Pete what about yourself? JVLRacing
I've done two motorkhanas and they were fun, but my memory is bad and the car probably suits khanacrosses better.
I'd like to do some more modds to mine to get some more ground clearance.
Then I'll do some khanacrosses probably, and there's a plan to go to Fraser next year with some friends and their families.
An aside, is your car dry sumped or have you winged your sump?
I am running a new Sachs 215mm clutch and pressure plate in our EJ22 conversion. I already had them, so it made good economical sense. I don't think it should be too much of a problem?
Pete,Deffently not dry sumped. Thers no need to do this they run perfect as is.Due to this is because the Crank is knifed edge which cuts threw the oil quiker instead of drowning it self. Ive shortened the sump but also run a setrad oil cooler with it as well.JVLRacing
does the oil cooler just bolt onto the block with the filter would normally go?
Pete ,give me a call.You have a u2u. JVLRacing
