Allmost there.............
Jak Rizzo - June 29th, 2005 at 02:26 PM

A faulty fuel pump, then a nail & tech screw in the left rear tyre, then a loose earth............we overcame all that to then have the clutch have the final laugh, slipping at 6000rpm it was all over, but still, 131.9kw @ the wheels on 11 pounds boost without a pushrod in sight! (is it a deisel?) change of clutch will allow it to be finished off & reach its full potential. Once again, fellow Pastizzi eater Nathan from the Throttle Shop worked his magic & Matt says that it drives better already.
Took a few picks, enjoy.:thumb

The car screams.....twice as quick as it was, partly attributed to an air leak on the cooler side of the turbo we didnt know about till a couple of days ago. I have the new clutch on the shelf that Mike from Cbb made, so when I have a clear day it will be done and then up goes the boost. Nathan has set an 18lb limit on the computer in case I go silly before It returns for its final tune.
The car was at 10lb of boost at 2000rpm and torque was a straight line.

boof2332 - June 30th, 2005 at 09:54 AM

Anthony, please tell me you havnt forgotton the countless times I have told you that I have a ssp with welded 3rd and 4th and a super diff. Jak has similar.

Jak has the potential to make more power due to his t5. My vf24 has more torque and spools up quicker. If only Jak would embrace the boost, his car would make ridiculous top end power. Rizzo I'm getting you a controller today!

Matt

Doug Sweetman - June 30th, 2005 at 10:24 AM

The Rizzmaster will up the boost one day I am sure..... look at his past - his engines continuously got bigger and more powerful, and then he went Subie turbo. So its truly only a matter of time I reckon.....

greenjeff - June 30th, 2005 at 11:03 AM

Inspiring pictures!!

Jak's car looks lower at the back and higher at the front then Matt's car, or is it just an optical illusion?

boof2332 - June 30th, 2005 at 11:48 AM

Mine is a 68 body, jaks is a superbug...different lines.

71superbug - June 30th, 2005 at 11:59 AM

ahh sorry matt. u told me that?

also i was just wondering. with you intercooler placement matt.

wouldnt that effect the dyno figures. as there wouldnt be any air flow going over the core??

You missed the 2x 9inch thermos in the box....it works ridiculously well! Drops intake temps down to 10-18 degrees.

boof2332 - July 3rd, 2005 at 08:30 AM

Clutch is changed..just got to weld up the exhaust to the new dump pipe I got....dyno again tuesday..maybe?

Matt

seagull - July 21st, 2005 at 01:17 AM

Jak > Matt ? please I just about to machine a fly wheel up with a subaru center what size fly wheel are you using and have you a run down on the clutch your using as well .

cheers guys , seagull

Jak Rizzo - July 21st, 2005 at 07:54 AM

Our flywheels are 215mm units & the clutches are custom made items by Mike at CBB.

New clutch is in with the new improved boofy exhaust and dump pipe....I seriously think the clutch was slipping the entire rev range, because I thought it was quick before. At say 3000 rpm in second cruising down the street, you stand on it and and after it stops spinning, the g-forces hurt your head...

I am nearly afraid to turn the boost up..lucky that was nearly, although seems to be just on the lean side due to the dump pipe and less restricted shape of the exhaust. Add a touch of fuel here and there and I'll try 16 psi...

Got to go drive some more...
