$$ and pics? How much more work to complete?

boof2332 - July 26th, 2005 at 11:15 PM

Whats happened Chris??? How come you are selling????

At least go to ems and get a module, they are only $115. I will help you get it started to sell it if you want.

Matt

squizy - July 26th, 2005 at 11:22 PM

That'd be good Mat. Interested in hearing yours and Jaks opinion.

boof2332 - July 27th, 2005 at 12:09 AM

I've seen the car, and from memory is pretty neat. The motor is the same as ours..from SSS and it just needs an ignition module to run, Not sure what exhaust etc he has made up although everything else has been done right...

I'm not far from there and can pop over with anyone who is unfamiliar with the setup.

VWCOOL - July 27th, 2005 at 10:03 AM

seagull - July 27th, 2005 at 11:19 PM

just put a price on it, looks like a good project

add the bits up , would save some one lots of time as it all there :)

2443TT - July 28th, 2005 at 12:04 AM

Go to a wreckers and pick up some ignitors from a toyota camry. We just got 5 from the wreckers here in Darwin for $50.

Toyota ignitors are more or less the same from the lexus v8, soarer, camry, seca, landcruisers etc, and are very good quality. Oh, and they'll work with a microtech ecu.

boof2332 - July 28th, 2005 at 02:12 AM

I use an EMS one. They are the cheapest new one you can get for about $115...that you know works. They are at Smithfield.

Not much to finish this baby.....1 week collecting little bits and pieces and then a weekend on the tools.

It will end up costing less than some vw performance engines.

Matt

If anyone needs a hand with the injection, I can get this baby running....Become a microtech master I have. Its all the little things like fuel pumps, radiator, thermos etc that have been done that end up costing over $1000

Glen, you cannot win all arguments until you have your closing argument, so sell your 1916 engine and you will be able to buy one of the quickest cars you will ever own!

Something for everyone to ponder on this beautiful Friday.

Started racing before you got out of your nappies Craig and built better cars.... and NEVER used coat hangers to hold my cars together. But thanks for the thought anyway.:kissJVLRacing

boof2332 - July 29th, 2005 at 09:32 AM

Now Craig, I said one of the quickest cars. With 16 pound of boost and sticky tyres that little super will do 0-100 in about 4 seconds and in the 12's for the quater. Thats engineered and street registered not like 90% of the cars at the drags last wed night.

I do not know what VWCOOL has owned or will own, although if thats no the quickest, it can not be far off....and all for under 10k

Hugs and kisses

Craig Torrens - July 29th, 2005 at 10:12 AM

boof2332 - July 29th, 2005 at 04:22 PM

Dude,

Ignition module $115

Radiator pipes from front to back, clamps, mounts and rubber hose....$200 tops.

Not sure if he has run fuel lines yet...and we can run it without a swirl pot initially to get it started.

Exhaust...a couple of bits of straight 3 inch 1x45 mandrel and 2x90 mandrels and pick a muffler. I have a dump pipe already... and ill weld it up.Total $250

A few other little things....not much. I would have to go and look at the car, although if you got the stuff together, apart from the time consuming bits like welding exhausts etc....you could be driving it in a weekend.

I'll show you all the microtech crap so you can sort it if there is a problem later, or have to pull the motor.

It wouldnt be more than $1000.
