any one seen one of the nissan VG30 motors in a vw ?
I am looking for a CAD diagram for the bolting pcd on the block if any one knows of one .
& yes Chris I have asked Brian today
I have not seen any in the back of a vw ( on road car )
I cant imagine why not tho.
Light and powerful and they are available in both atmo, single and twin turbo variants and the import engines are rtemarkably cheap.
Still running stock engine management, with a bit of massaging they easil;y produce about 240Kw and plenty more with programmeable stuff.
Would make a sensational V6 conversion I reckon.

that why i got it very cheap
hahaha u devious bastard!
sadly, the engine like that will NOT fit into a formulavee......welllll...mebbe....nahhhhhh!
Actually I have been toying with adapting a Nissan E15et to a dub gearbox. The e15et is compact and very light and is a bulletproof little engine.
I have a spare complete Nissan turbo ET engine including all efi laying around and that would make a seriously fun play toy! mebbe one day!

what are you planing on putting this in seagull
A beetle !
Christ that would make a serious weopon.
Those VG30det's pull like mad from about 2500 and just contimue on, and on, and on.
My M8 has just got one (Nissan 300zx) and I had much pleasure in deflowering it around Baskerville race track, much to the amusement of his missus
whom I took for some hot laps and drifting hooliganism!
All that in a car twice the weight of a Kraut.
If/when you get that thing going seagull, I am booking a ticket to Perth and demand you take me for a hell ride LOL

This sounds disturbing! Though most of what you guys do here in this forum is a little off. How wide is the VG30 in comparison to the EJ20T.
I measure it up during the week and let you know .
I am looking at mating it to one of my auto boxes ( manual shift ) with the diff set up I have been working on for the last year.I was looking for a
lower cost option than the subaru .
So to the DARK SIDE we go
This motor is looking like a good conversion
Lenth 480mm
with 580mm
center of crank to top of motor 450mm
center of crank to bottom of sump 240mm , this looks like a easy mod to short sump the oem unit .
It would apear that the inlet manifold is ISO mount & the same for the headers , so these cam be turned around & bolted back down again .
I am going to try the above to be sure .

I need a few parts for this donk
Dizy
ecu
water pump
Neil,
This sounds like an awful lot of fun. Did I read right - are you putting the type 3 auto in a beetle pan with the VG30 behind it ? would be a really
nice cruiser then.....
Have you thought about running one of the davies craig electric water pumps ?
Keep the updates on the forum - will follow closely !
You wouldnt have a spare WRX head just laying around in your shed would you ?
Cheers,
Doug

Any specs on the donk - is it a V6 3L!?
yep 3 litres of nissan V6 madness, can come in either SOHC or DOHC, single or double turbo. Can't wait to see what seagull has up his sleave.
the motor I picked up is a 12 valve unit
To let you know> in a none turbo there 134 kw and 260 nm of torque
When you fit a turbo to the header there 172 kw & 333 nm of torque you would get a bit more if the unit had a big cooler fitted around the 180 >185 kw
.
This motor has realy been over looked from what I have see around the place .I have seen the motors in off road race cars and they bust the best
clutches you can buy and suff diffs .
The motor cost me a bottle of square bear , so I get a low cost motor that has done about 30000 ks by the look of the internals , just need to get a
few bits and its a low cost package .
My plan is to fit a 3 ltr super charger to the donk from a toyota .
Sorry Doug no heads mate & yes will have a auto fitted with a custom rear .
