the modified wiring loom for my EJ20 TT arrived today and I have been able to hook most of it up already
if anyone can tell me that this part is and where it goes?
maybe part of the VSS unit, I have no idea?
also, the connector's for the spark plugs. there are 2 white ones and 2 black one's.
what side do you connect the white/black one's to?
and last Q for now: does it make a difference if I swicht the fuel injector connecters on each side of the engine or does each one connect to 1
specific injector?
thanks
The 2nd and 3rd pics you put up look slightly like an idle control stepper solenoid. How big is it?
Look on the inlet manifold near the thottle body and you'll find the idle control valve. See is there is a shaft sticking out that that part fits
onto.
Looks like the knock sensor. Mounted with an 8 mm bolt on the top of the case under the manifold I think? I'll check the manual for the location...
The coil connections (black and white, on the spark plugs plugs) need to be connected to the correct coils for firing order. Post 97 engine looks like? All the yellow wires (not plugs) are the 12V+ to the coil and the other wires are the - trigger. Each injector needs to be to the specific injector plug for that cylinder.nn[ Edited on 10-9-2005 by speedster356 ]
and injectors
Thanks a lot for the fast replies guys, I'll look into it this afternoon.
I noticed none of the connectors on the wiring loom were the shape that fits the alternator, could it be this is a seperate little loom and I'll have
to make my own connectors for that?
it seems the numbers on my connectors are different.
the fuel injector connectors on the air filter side are marked E3 and E4, oil filler neck side: E1 and E2
can't figure out the coil connectors either,if someone can maybe tell me where the white connecor goes(cam belt side coil or flywheel side coil) and
if the colors go in the same place on each rocker cover?
I would ask in a Subaru garage about this but none where I live and very few Subaru drivers over here.
E1, E2, E3 and E4 will propably have to be connected to their respective cylinder number (only seems logical)
If someone knows the ignition sequence of the EJ20TT and can tell me which cylinder is which number that would be great.
sorry, cant help you whit your wiring questions, but would realy like to know what I need of wiring to do a ej20t switch.. Sorry if I fucked up your tread, but thought it was a good idea to put the question her...

I have the ej20tt in the 914...I also have the complete wiring harness in the car.....so I can look and tell you. Injectors can not be swapped. The
coils are different to ej20t's which have 2 wires.
Please list all you questions re wiring on the one post so I can go to the car and try and work them out for you!

Thanks boof2332, really appreciate it.
Most of the wiring is in now but still don't know where to hook up the round connector in picture nr.2 and 3.
and to which wire is the vehicle speed sensor from Custom Ofroad supposed to be hooked up to please (should arrive next week)

mounted the "knock sensor" but no connector on my modified loom fits on the knock sensor's connector
almost ready to start the engine the first time, just need a few more parts but shops were closed already, tomorrow should be the big day then
then it's on to connecting the vacuum lines.
@Boof2332, do you have the stock vacuum line box (the black one) hooked up to control the sequential turbo's?
If you do, could you give us a clue on what line hookes up where please?
anybody know what wires on the ECU connect to the VSS unit and which ones control the radiator fan?
