I am looking at a ej20T , has the 93 model any known problems ? its an import unit , done 83k
cheers seagull
Aren't the earlier ones the best? Closed deck block, oil squirters, big turbo? (plus lots of lag?)
93/94 supposed to be better from any mechanic I have spoken to because of strength of block, better pistons, bigger and better TD05 turbo.
Jak picked up bargain of the century for his EJ20 and has given him good service. I picked up a 93 with all accessories and a complete ready to go VW
conversion wiring harness and modified ECU for 3k delivered from Brisbane to Sydney. It has 50k km on the clock.
Yet to really drive the bastard yet but Im sure I will be happy.
Thanks guys
Seagull

Is the intercooler still there???? It will be directly off that and plumb into the air intake before the turbo(moulded black piece of pipe about 50mm
in diameter.
Does your motor have a T5???
Matt
Just looked at your pic of the front cut on the other post, Seagull. I can see the little BOV on the left of the cooler. It is round and black and has
a vacuum line running to the throttle body.

Will be an open deck block, I think you'll find that the early RS Liberty block is closed not the WRX. Not a problem at all unless you want to run bigggggg boost, say greater that 20 + psi!:thumb
I see the blow off valve now .Matt can not read the data on the turbo I need to pull some of the hoses away .
MMM now if I bolt this into the trike !
You will have to TUBB the rear to get traction, at which time you would find it both hard to see and steer with the front wheels 5ft in the
air.....would look pretty f##kin cool down the main street whilst wasting ricer.
Matt
how is the IRS taking the extra weight of the subaru donks guys ?
It needs beefing up a bit. Jak used to scrape his skid plate on the sump everytime he hit boost.
I think sway away may be the go .However I going to be doing coil overs
I am having fun getting chirpies in third....especially when its peoples first ride in the car. Most dont notice it as they are either flapping their
hands around in an attempt to grad the little bar in front of them, or trying to hit the brake pedal that isnt on the left hand side of the car.
