Finally completed the reverse manifold on my EJ22. I am using a 1.8 TB that has the AIC mounted to the TB. I emailed a few people on the NASICO forum and they said that the 2.2 ECU would run the 1.8 TB, AIC and TPS just fine. Started the engine today and let it run for a min. or two and seemed to run OK. I would have let it run longer but I dont have a radiator yet.

looks ok. Have you had to cut much metal out to fit the subie in?

I had to make the rear valance removable to get the engine in. That is alll the cutting I have done.

Nice....where does the cold air to cool the stock motors usuall enter engine area. Wherever it is....make a box section around your filter and duct the air from there. Takes a while to get over the fact that the engine bay temp now has no effect on engine temps as there is now a radiator doing that. Cool intake air is the only concern for power gains. You would still be able to sort of seal the bay from the exhaust due to the minimal cutting....always helps if the filter is in there.

The cold air usually enters the left side of the engine bay. I was planning to making a cold air box and open it up from underneath to scoop in the fresh air. This was a quick fix to get the engine running.

got any close ups of the new alternator bracket? how did you make it?

I do not have the alternator bracket fabricated yet. I plan on coping the original design. Once I fabricate it I will make drawings of it for anyone who wants them.

hi just curious about the sump i noticed it hasn"t been shortened. iam in the process of putting a ej22 into my kombi and i was told i would have to modify the sump because thay hang to low. are you going to do the same or you dont think its necessary.

Right now I have approx. 6" clearance between the ground and the bottom on the sump. I believe if you were careful you could leave it but I am going to cut mine to give more clearance. I am also going to fabricate a new sump out of aluminum (after the car is on the road)..
