SUBARU EJ22 ECU WIRING HELP!!!!
neggy17 - December 29th, 2005 at 06:04 AM

Hi, I have been stripping out the original wiring loom and ecu out of a 1990 2.2 subaru legacy for conversion to my 1968 vw beetle. I have been using the drawings and instructions from Kennedy engineering. They have been very helpfull but i have now run into a few problems that i am hoping that somebody can help me with.
I have three loose wires that i dont know where they go to. Two of the wires come from the yellow select monitor plug. In the instructions it says that this plug has 7 wires but mine has 10 and two of them ( green/black ) and
( yellow/green) dont go to anything. The other wire which i am more worried about comes directly from the ecu and it is C11. In the instructions this wire is said to be green/black and is grounded to the engine by the 1" plug but mine is brown/red and it goes to nothing.
I am thinking that these differences may be because it is a UK car but if anybody can help i would be very grateful.
Cheers Neggy

I would download the wiring diagram from the Subaru website. I believe it cost $30.00 for the wiring diagrams. I did it when I needed the diagrams for a 2.2 1995 Legacy. Or try and find the ECU pinout.

ECU pinouts and just trace what goes to what, would be the easiest.

Good luck...

Do you have a 4 plug ECU ? It should be on a 90's lib
Tell me which plug the wires come out in terms of smallest to largest and I can tell you where it goes. My C11 doesn't match yours.

Also can you give me the G number off the ECU sticker.

Cheers,

Hi Buggy Brad,
It is a 4 plug ECU. I cant see any G number on it but here are the numbers that are on it if it will help.
D7
22611 AA670
A11-000 RA5
0326
Thats every number thats on the ecu. Its not the smallest plug its the next size up.
Thanks for your help Neggy.
