jak how are the lateral forces on the rear tyres and have you noticed extra flex in the body due to the extra weight of the subie motor and also the flex on the gearbox.

seagull - March 10th, 2006 at 09:05 PM

Well I am starting with a $125.00 94 wrx motor

Just checked the dates also....looks like I better join the porsche club so my 200++ ponies can have a go too! I had a practice at the creek a couple of weeks ago...I thought subaru would have made those 2.5 sti's quicker.

Is there anyone in Australia apart from Jak, who gets a gismo thats purpose is to turn up boost, and by simply utilizing the very function it was intended could give you 240+hp.......then refuses to turn it. Then again, if your primary concern is making sure your skirt isnt trapped in the door, and working out a good place to put your handbag, so as not to spill your makeup...200hp would still scare the shit out of me! Better hide that controller Rizzo, cause i'm turning it when I see it!

Matt.
p.s. Love the flat torque curve!

seagull - March 12th, 2006 at 09:41 AM

Jak , with my ej20 trike I have the rear now slaming to the ground under brakes .I have the torsion bars ( stock type three set as high as I can .The sump ( stock ) hits the deck and is a concern to me .My brakes are twin disks up front with a ford disk brake set up at the rear .

what is your car set up at the rear please

I dont know my power to weight but the trike comes in dry at 640kg + me at 95kg a bit of fuel

I thought all fords were Taxies ( ! )

speedster356 - March 12th, 2006 at 10:33 AM

Make a new sump.....mine was a rush and leaks a tiny tiny bit...not enough to have made me weld ip a new one, and we now have a tig so its easier than before.

That may halp a bit.

Amazingly the car seems to love it, the extra weight has improved it's stabilty at around the 200kph range & the removal of the rear wing doesn't seem to have any effect at all, my $125 second hand gearbox is still holding in there as well, so are the original axles & CV! God knows how, it has definantly taught me to drive smoothly whilst chirping the tyres on gear changes.

Jak
Chirping....there goes another box:thumbJVL

Top stuff - little cars beating big cars is so much fun!
