I just got my 73 beetle. i am interesed in the ej25 transplant but i have a couple of questions.
1. is the stock vw transmission able to handle the ej25 and if yes, does it bolt right up to it.
2.i think the brakes might need to be beefed up a little bit. What are some kits that i could get for the car. Unless its unnecessary(spelling)
thanx in advance

1. Whether it can handle it is dependent upon how you drive. Folks destroy stock bug transmissions with stock bug engines!
It does not bolt up. You need an adapter. Then it will bolt up, but that is just the very start of the process.
Brakes may or may not need modification depending upon how you drive and where you live. Here in SoCal you can run anything you like, but some places
have stiffer engineering requirements and inspections.
Judging from your questions you would do well by spending some time surfing the net and looking at other folks conversions before you make any
decisions. There is a lot involved, and a conversion is better considered a hobby in itself rather than a quick modification.

You will have to move the box foward, buy adaptor and flywheel, look at fuel pumps, surge tanks, return lines, any cutting of rear, clutch, extra
bracing etc etc.
Search, and read on the forum first...there are plenty of threads on it.
