Could someone please help me. I have a ej22 moter in my kombi with the radiator behind the bullbar, but water just doesn!t cerculate properly. I have bled the system plus put a new thermostat in what am i doing wrong. help please.
How's the waterpump?
-Staggers.
not sure how would i go about testing it.
well if you pull off the rad cap ( do this before you start the car when cold) and you cant see water moving in the radiator once the water temp has
reached operating temp, then that is a sure sign the water pump is not pumping!
other reasons may be because you have a suction in the radiator pipes due to them being rubber perhaps??? i have heard of that happening on bullbar
rad setups before
from the engine, how far do the coolant pipes get warm? if not far then again the water pump is rooted,
how long does it take to reach prime operating temp? bout 90 for those engines im guessing...
and least but not last... do you have an air bleed valve at the highest point in the engine bay? if you dont you will have maybe up to 3L of air in
your engine and pipes, because when you fill up the coolant at the front the water is forcing the water up and if theres no where for it to go it will
just bake up in your engine and your water pump may be spinning steam! therefore not pumping water!!!
goodluck

Therefore overheating!

The bleed is the key. I have a one way valve at the top of my radiator..when filling, you can quickly expell the trapped air....mine can overheat in a
few minutes with an air lock.

I made a fill pot for mine .I think Matt & jak have one of the units I made on there rides.
I have a line that runs to the rear it bleads as your filling it .
George is correct as my filler conects direct to the heater outlet on the thermostat.
Remember the water flows from the bottom up .
I have never had an issue.
