Perfect fit with only minor adjustments.:smirk:

Just getting the engine hatch louvered. Then a full custom exhaust and an ECU.
Expected to be on the road by July.

The bottom of the sump is only about an inch lower than the original 2ltr sat.

fozee - April 18th, 2006 at 08:15 AM

Bought a set of Phonedials yesterday. They are getting restored at the moment too.

urban_myth - April 18th, 2006 at 10:00 AM

what was this 1uz out of? A toyota soarer, celsior or crown?

rocknrob - April 18th, 2006 at 02:40 PM

Hi Fozee....does the V8 interfere with the fuel tank?

555bug - April 18th, 2006 at 09:12 PM

looks slow lol

seagull - April 19th, 2006 at 02:14 AM

In perth we have raced this motor for 4 years .To date the only thingsto fail was coil pack & a spark plug lead & the starter motor .This is after braking a few 9" diffs & c4 autos , cvs .tail shaft .

kevo - April 19th, 2006 at 10:24 AM

dude how did you make the engine lid in the cabin so big? boilermaker do that work did they? looks good

fozee - April 19th, 2006 at 10:23 PM

kevo:
Unique Fabrication has done all the body work so far and will do all the rest.

rocknrob:
Fuel tank isnt any interference. Just removed the malamine fire wall. Im told from a reliable source that it can stil be engineered without the malamine fire wall.

urban_myth:
I believe the engine is from a Crown. Not that it really matters between the each car. Main difference between a Lexus Celsior or Soarer, Toyota Crown and what ever year it is, is the placement of the sump and later models have the sequential injection and or vvti, and a maximum variation of 5-10kw.
Like youd notice a 5kw difference in a kombi. hehe

555bug:
My dream is to acheive an everyday drivable and reliable 13 sec Quart.
The plans for Eaton forced induction are being put together in my mind. The key is to keep it looking stock as possible.

My Mate has just super charged this motor in his jet boat , goes very good

fozee - July 31st, 2006 at 09:50 PM

Just have to sort out the radiator fill up tank and the airbox.
The engine is all set and ready for the Autronic SM4 to be installed.
2.25" Stainless system installed two months ago.
Have a set of phone dials at home to be resprayed.

Baja Wes - July 31st, 2006 at 09:54 PM

you'll have to post some more recent pics.

malcolm - July 31st, 2006 at 10:40 PM

great engine choice 6 bolt mains 200kw add forced induction 450kw easy .autronic ecu another excellent had won in a previous car and very well priced.

seagull - August 1st, 2006 at 01:24 AM

Not all are 6 bolt mains
My mate has a super chaged one in a boat , eaton M90 it did not like the bloweron there at all .
The race car ( stock motor ) has just 200kw at the wheels

I can get full front cuts for $2500.00

71superbug - August 1st, 2006 at 04:11 AM

im pretty sure they are all 6 bolt mains neil?

i was looking into this before as for a while there i went off the subie ej20t idea and was gonna pursue
an old cortina and put a single turbo 1uzfe in it..mm...maybe as a race car. (drag)

Doug Sweetman - August 1st, 2006 at 10:38 AM

And also a gent in perth runs a Camira (I think) drag car, twin turbo 1UZFE (wouldnt that make it a 1UZFETT ? :) ) which makes a nice healthy 1000kw ..... was in zoom about 6 or 8 months ago.

gull - August 1st, 2006 at 11:09 AM

The one I looked at floodys work shop did not

fozee - August 2nd, 2006 at 06:50 PM

Just picked up an Optima Blue cap battery and new ignition barrel.
New water pump, bearings, cam belt, distributor caps and rotors arrived too.
Tommorrow i will find out when they can take the Bus in for the ECU install and finishing touches.

kevo - August 2nd, 2006 at 11:58 PM

i think we will all keep a close eye on this project

keep the photos coming mate

fozee - August 16th, 2006 at 10:16 PM

Not getting an Autronic.
Have decided on a notec M48 CLubman.
The bus is getting towed on monday to the Jaustech workshop to begin the job.
They have a big job ahead:
Sorting all the electric and converting wiring to Fuel Injection.
Fitting the Radiator filler bottle, resealing the sump, fitting the air intake.
Fitting new water pump, serpentine belt and bearings.

kevo - August 16th, 2006 at 11:09 PM

shouldn't be too long before another VEEDUB is brought back to life
most of the job is done, it just sounds like the last bits now

good luck
