argh... can't get the EJ on
72RSbug - May 8th, 2006 at 12:33 AM

had the EJ20TT on a swing axle box on my other pan, no problem.

Now I have a type 1 IRS box on an automatic pan and I keep having a 1cm gap between the engine and the box :cry

I can wiggle the engine left and right so the point where something is holding it back is in the center.

Already tried it without the clutch guidance tube and same problem. Als tried turning the crank slightly with each turn.

What to do next?

Hi

Have you tried backing off the clutch cable?

The pedal set is not yet mounted on this chassis to there is nothing pulling the clutch lever.

I live in Belgium.

I've measured the length and diameter of the gearbox shaft and it should fit. Think the bearing where the gearbox shaft sits in the flywheel might be the problem (I just put a plastic clutch allignment tool in it and that was a very tight fit.
