EJ just seized
72RSbug - May 16th, 2006 at 01:19 AM

tried starting the EJ20TT again on a bare chassis.
First off, the only thing electrical that happens is the ECU relais that clicks and not the sound of the vacume valves that open en close like it should do.

I hooked up the starter and gave it a go about 5 times and all of a sudden a louder "klack" noise and now I can only turn the crank a tiny but to the left and right.

I am really confused about this situation since there was enough oil in the engine and it's not that the engine was to warm or anything.

just pulled the engine and luckely it's not seized, the little tube that guides the clutche's pressure ring is broken. The problem seems to be in the clutch part somewhere.

phew!

I know that feeling. It was the starter in my case.

the part of the starter that comes out is also busted through this.

:sniffle:

oh well, you'll just have to buy a new shiny starter. :spin:

Makes you feel sick the first couple of times you think a new motor is on the cards.
