malcolm - July 2nd, 2006 at 02:30 AM

I sat the spare vg20 in the ovals engine bay and it didn,t look right and a bit heavy.I,ll like to put a eg33 in the oval cams are closer together than the ej20 and the eg33 is only 50mm longer .

humpty - July 2nd, 2006 at 03:56 PM

Ummm no Malcolm.... The EG33 is about 150mm longer than the EJ20.... the 3ltr is about 40mm longer at the crank than the Ej engines....

kroozzn63 - July 2nd, 2006 at 04:15 PM

guys im looking at getting a 71 superbug ute modified engineered and "has been regod in nsw with a suby brumbi 1800 the car comes with a ej20t would there be much hasssle to fit and re rego with the power upgrade?

malcolm - July 2nd, 2006 at 05:09 PM

need to be engineered with the ej20 larger cc +turbo

malcolm - July 2nd, 2006 at 05:29 PM

thanks humpty I,ll have to go and measure that engine again

humpty - July 2nd, 2006 at 08:29 PM

No probs Malcolm..... and Kroozzn, you also gonna need an entire redo of the adapter, engine mounts and ECU.... none of the EA parts are compatible with the EJ engine.... BUt you might be able to sell off the EA and associated bits to offset the cost of the adapter/FW etc....

kroozzn63 - July 2nd, 2006 at 09:35 PM

thanx hmm maybe i should just put a ea1800 back in
how much power they got?

humpty - July 2nd, 2006 at 09:48 PM

The EFI Turbo version spec...
Name: EA82 Turbo
Type: 1781cc EFI OHC boxer 4-cyl Turbo
Power: 89.5kW @ 5200
Torque: 178Nm @ 2400
Sources: 88-89 Alcyone/Vortex and Leone GT

The N/A carby version was a lot less....

A very nice little 1956 Splitty Panelvan.... Straight as with very little rust.... Not be registered since 1979..... Nice hippy graphics on the exterior and interior..... Perfect!

seagull - July 4th, 2006 at 01:06 AM

I think you are talking about the white roof blue lower section van ?

humpty - July 4th, 2006 at 01:11 AM

To tell you the truth.... I have never paid much attention to the colours.... The murals and the semaphores are what really gets me going......

seagull - July 4th, 2006 at 01:14 AM

This is the one with the holes through the tail gate ( yes )
