Got the ej20t in the back of my 68 square engineered and regoed . Went for a drive down the coast not a problem then check engine light comes on
along with thermo fan. engine is not hot , as i slow down for set of lights the light goes off. This also happens when i give it a bit and a few
seconds later light is on , pull over turn off then on again light is off. From what i've been reading the light should stay on if there is a fault .
This could be faulty connector or air leak? just want to see if anyone else has had this problem . also engine is out of an auto and have seen that
the water pump for manual and auto are diff part numbers should i change to manual water pump?
any help would be fantastic ohh engine also goes into limp mode with about a 4500 rev limit while light is on.
earth , run another
will do that , reconnected diag plugs turns out faults are 24 idle valve and 33 speed sensor , thinking if neutral wire should be earthed out or not , to simulate it not being in neutral?
i had code 24 iac valve problems when first rego'd
bought a second hand one and it to was problematic
bought a can of carby cleaner and cleaned up the original
and it's now as good as gold.
the check engine light was doing the same as yours
would come on and off and show code 24 on the scanner.
don't know about the limp mode i thought it would go into limp
and you wouldn't be able to rev it anywhere near 4500
could it maybe be a plug, plug lead or coil????????????
ahhh solved that problem turns out speed sensor was not hooked up so modified subi speedo to fit in stock position and modded speedo cable to fit now all good until saturday had batt cable come off and cause havoc and now i'm getting a error 23 which is airflow meter just priced one for about 650.00 from dealer it never ends but its all worth it for the times it runs sweet.
