Hi peoples
I am putting a ea81 motor in my BAJA and would like to find out where the wires from the alternator go in the beetle wiring?
I know that the screw type fitting goes to the battery.
there is also two push on fittings and on the label it marks these plugs as "W " and " S " now one of these must be for the charge light but which
one and where does the other one go to.
Thanks for any help
Marc
I will have a look this afternoon.
Sorry Marc..............................

Internally regulated?
Is there only S and W? Both the same size?
-Staggers.
I'm assuming you have a B+ terminal (Direct to battery if internally regulated) The W is most likely the tachometer signal wire and the S from memory
is a battery voltage sensing wire... I might be wrong with the S though.
Is there also a D+ terminal (To go from your ignition switch, through a suitable bulb/resistor then into your field windings)?
-Staggers.
mine has a thick white wire (this goes to battery +ve), white/red wire, this goes to light (idiot/charge light).
there is one more wire, looks white to me (same size as the white/red one) which doesn't appear on the electrical diagram I have. The diagram
indicates a B/W (i assumed this was black/white) that goes to Battery +ve.
Maybe you can post here (or in the EA81 wiring info http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=57308 thread) what you found to work.

Just as long as you know it needs a decent resistance i the charge light circuit, if you connect it straight to 12v + terminal your alternator will
not charge.
The system/circuit needs the load which is applied by the bulb (Which also may need a resistor installed too depending on the wattage of the bulb)
Remember Ohm's law don't you?
