mattie182 - October 30th, 2006 at 10:10 PM

Hi all,

I am thinking maybe a mod, can make this thread stick to the top forever!!!

Ok the plan is anyone who has a succesfull radiator position, post a pic of how you set it up,
What car is it in?
What are the benifits?
What are the negatives?
What would you change?
What sort of radiator?

this way we can put all the information together, to make life easier for those doing a water cooled conversion!!!

What car is it in? LWB Supasports buggy

What are the benifits? Good airflow!!!!:thumb

What are the negatives? Long water pipes, hard to bleed

What would you change? Maybe mounted higher

What sort of radiator? Golf radiator

will get some pics soon.......................

My rad is rear mounted

car: lwb J&S buggy
-ve: needs a big scoop/fans/fanshroud and proper ducting to work well. cross winds rob it of airflow. hard to work on engine as rad ducting is in the way. needs a larger rear engine cover to stop busy fingers burning themselves
+ve: out of harms way. close to engine. easy to bleed.
what would I change: cut back some of the heatsheild. maybe a different cover (currently using a beetle bootlid on the street). maybe front mount the rad coz really, the rad would work much better up front.
what sort of radiator: standard liberty outback radiator.

word's of wisdom: FRONT MOUNT RADS WORK BEST
