hey guys I’m fitting A EJ20 Turbo motor in my ride at the moment but have found out that the modified fly wheel I have (from my EJ20 non turbo days)
is for a shitty 215mm kombi zombie clutch even though it connects up with a standard L type bug box. (SSP with a whole lot of goodies)
The Problem? I can’t find any one that sells one that will take the power I will be unleashing on it.
i.e. 150 to 200 KW
I have found that Excedy and some other mobs will make me a custom clutch and pressure plate but it will most properly cost over a $1000
Any one had a problem like this or know of a way around it? I’ve been told I can modify my modified fly wheel to fit a larger clutch which is
available but I don’t really want to go down that route but if it is easier and cheaper then the custom clutch let me know.
I was originally going to get a slipper clutch but have been steered away from this first because they don’t make one 215mm. Second the cost and
third ppl say they suck for daily driving. Any body got any thoughts for this?
Then I decided to get a button clutch, they make one that will fit but heaps of ppl said my box wont last a day with it and they supposedly suck at
daily driving
Need help ASAP. Everything else is ready to go
Dude I drive mine daily..it has close to 200kw at the wheels and I have a 215 kombi clutch that mike at cbb modified for $250 I think. All you need to
do is send your flywheel also so he can check clamp down heights on the new flywheel.
Mine has only slipped when I got oil on the disc from the box, otherwise my disc has hardly worn after 500kms weekly.

How long do you anticipate it will last for?
I really don’t want to have to change it for years to come and as this is my daily that’s goner be at least
30,000Kms
Can you explain exactly what he will do to it and what clutch plate will he use, standard cant possibly last long with the abuse I will be giving it
What about Kennedy stuff?

ive had a stocky clutch in mine too (non turbo EJ20) for about 3 years before it started to slip but now with the extra power of the EJ20T i really
want some insurance that i wont be pulling it out anytime soon.
any more help guys?
A stock Sach's Clutch plate will handle it just fine. If you are worrried I would look at upgrading your presure plate. Most clutch places will do
this for under $300. I would suggest going to no more than around 2000 lbs as after that it becomes very heavy and cables start to break.
I have a 2200 LBS kennedy in my EJ 20 T baja and it is heavy. Funnily enough a kennedy one is just a modified sach's unit anyway. Oh and it east
cables.

I got one from cbb in penrith to suit 215 flywheel and hasn't slipped at all and i've done 10000kms with the ej20t in my 68 squareback cost about $220 and is has about 800kg clamping (1700lbs)
Hi
I had a 215 in my Wasserboxer 1302, it was done by Raceclutch in Qld.
