Strange noise from 98 EJ20

Hi guys & girls

I've got a strange noise coming from around the Throttle body/coil/inlet manifold sorta area.

It occurs at an interval of 5 - 5.5 seconds at idle (not random intervals). A quiet "Tick tick" (two ticks, duration of about as fast as you can say it) sounds like an electrical spark.
I've ruled out HT as it's every 5 - 5.5 seconds or so.

Every thing's running fine but any ideas as to WTH it is?

Does the 98 have a purge solenoid around that area? IF so i bet its that, and perfectly normal. Theres also the idle solenoid, but that should be operating at a lot higher frequency that 5 seconds.
