CEL - Boost Preasure?
one4 - August 23rd, 2007 at 07:28 PM

Hey all,

Ok, so I got my EJ20t to turn over and splutter for a sec on its own but now it wont kickover at all.
Check the Check engine light and get two codes.
CEL 45
CEL 24
So ive looked all over the net.
Think I have all the vacuum lines right.
Checked the boost solenoid and it seems to still be ok.
Any ideas would be great.

Cheers

Richard

Reset ECU and try again?

What exactly do the codes mean?

one4 - August 23rd, 2007 at 08:20 PM

Yeah tryed to reset the ecu by leaving it unpowered for a length of time.
Didn't work.

CEL 45: Pressure sensor and pressure exchange solenoid valve
CEL 24: By-Pass air control solenoid valve

Well thats what I believe any way.

codes are cel 24: Idle Speed Control (ISC) Valve line
cel 45: Absolute pressure sensor / Atmospheric pressure change over solenoid line

Hey Danielle,

Yeah first time I tried starting it I got a few splutters a backfire and it ran for about 10 secs.
Which I though sweet but now no go.
Im thinking I might not have the Idle Air controller wired up properly.
Been so flat out with work havent had a chance to do anything.

Richard, if you want a hand at all, shoot a U2U to either Danielle or myself, and if I can get time off working on the type 3 ;), I'll come have a look.

doesnt sound like anything major.

as Danielle says, I dunno what engine it will be, but I have known good RX-2 12A, possibly good RX-4 13B and rebuilder RX-7 12A in the shed right now, so whatever takes my fancy at the time, probably the 13B, it should be good, and I dont have any other home for it ATM.
