Likely your oli filter will then be lower than the sump unless you can get a stump version or run a remote.

Perfect
now does anyone think that JVL's sump will fit with the standard Subaru Turbo manifold with standard heat sheilds on?

Hi
Bugs@5speed posts on here sometimes, do a search and you might find contact details on here. If you have room have you thought of lifting the motor up
an inch or so?
Steve
JVLRacing - February 7th, 2008 at 08:36 AM
Steve, thats a waste of time! That would cause more undistrubuted weight....not a good idea.
1303Steve - February 7th, 2008 at 09:37 AM
I don't think it would matter, he's not racing for sheep stations. What would be waste is if he stuffs a motor buy having a short sump or by
grounding his stock sump and loosing his oil
JVLRacing - February 7th, 2008 at 09:43 AM
got nothing to with racing steve! it becomes unbalance weight from front to back lifting motor up higher!
.
1303Steve - February 7th, 2008 at 01:48 PM
Hi John
I don't know why I'm arguing with you. You don't think fitting a big lump of a Subaru motor in the back of a car would not have already "unbalance
weight from front to back" Shit John 25 mm or so would not be noticeable.

who said we are arguing haha Steve 25mm still would steve.I work
by the theory keep everything level especially with these motors m8.Think steve! raising a motor higher would cause steering probs (like a seesaw
effect)Springs for one will become a bigger factor!

Dero - February 7th, 2008 at 06:01 PM
Well from what I can gather the Bug@5speed sumps seem like a good option though pricey I guess, but right now im on pounds so that isnt the biggest
issue also in the right place to sort it.
72type3wrx let me know if you want me to sort one for you if not no worrie!
and mine is for a Baja...

Seagull
yeah ill double check with the bloke, but I think it is like 340 Euro incl 17% VAT, though I will get the VAT off... I know they are pricey but they
look like a good option.
I am going to get him to send it home for me.
72type3wrx - February 12th, 2008 at 09:48 AM
lets all go out and buy dry sump set ups then
type2nut2 - February 13th, 2008 at 09:54 PM
Just for interests sake, can anyone provide me with any links to Subie engines with dry sumps?

never had an adult passenger in the back of a car and got a "seasaw effect" is raising the motor 25 mm more noticable than an 85 kg passenger

besides all the buggie(S) i own and have owned with 10deg kits in them spare wheels & mounts hanging out the back on (heavy) duty rear barwork
on top of and mostly behind the engine on swb buggies
AND
owning a vw twin cab often having 700+kg of firewood and numerous other crap over the years on the back loaded very and alot of that is over the
engine compartment which houses my lifted ej20t and still no seasaw.
if lifting your motor 25ml is causing seasaw you have a steering problem or a bent pan if i were you id check the front end
there is something wrong with your car

Hi newoldmanx
Thanks for your words of reason.

I just dont see the theory of lifting a motor 25mm solving a sump problem as Steve has said I did comment on this being a balance
prob....I believe in reason wat you have done with your buggies work but with every day road cars.....theres been alot of blokes doing subie transplants and i have never heard anybody lifting there motor up 25mm.....A
bent pan no doubt would cause steering probs.
