hey Guys
I thought i'd show off my shinney new Albins gears:
3.55 x 2.25
1.44 X 0.93
Only thing I haven't bought is a Ring & Pinion, does that mean no slicks / burnouts or will it break eventually anyway?
Tall-ish R&P going in??
i dont know i really dont want to spend another $1000 plus the gears i seleceted work with the standard ring and pinnion ratio of 3.875 which i think
i have??? any ideas if its 3.8 or 4.1??
Is there away to check before we open up the box? its a single side plate irs box.
and albins only sell a 4.57
Put it in second - mark (eg with whiteout) the output flange and the clutch. 8 turns of the clutch to one on the output flange is 3.88 - can't remember what the other calcs are.
what is a set of gears worth these days if you don't mind me asking?
I bet you sat and looked at them for hours!
Cost $1280 inc GST but on monday i will spend a further $1100 on a ring & pinnion.
I had to look at them for hours cause once in the box we will hopefully never ever see them again.
great value if it does the job I intend to do the same to my 091
I am no expert on gear selection and hope someone else can comment but I think 1st will still be far to short and sharp. You have heaps of power to
get up and boogy and 1st is really a waist.
If your at 140kw atw, wait until you get more. For example, as you know running 180kw atw and my gears with SSP 3.875 R&P are 3.0, 2.0, 1.26 (I
think) and 0.86.
Sit on just under 3k at 100km/h and first thing I noticed is I could actually if turning from a T intersection, get around the corner without having
to change into 2nd. without it sounding like Im over revving.
i worked out with new gears and my 215/65/15 tyres ill have shift speeds of:
60kph
100kph
150kph
240kph
and each gear change at 7000rpm will drop to 4500rpm for the next gear.
so you a 1st gear of 3.55? mmmm
