I am running a 94 WRX EJ20T engine. Most of the headers for sale on Ebay say 02-05 WRX and Sti etc etc fitment. Would these still fit my 94 engine, cant imagine exhaust outlet position being any different, maybe just restriction from parts under the engine which I obviously dont have due to Type 3 conversion.

I'm installing a 94' EJ20T as well and have bought a few sets of stainless steel headers off ebay to try and get the right ones.
Monsta proformance is pretty good however the headers hang too low, its hard to find a set that really 'hug' the motor, I ended up going with some
from this bloke http://stores.ebay.com.au/N-Power they arrived quickly,
reasonable price but still dont hug the motor as I really wanted (a lot better then the first lot) they ar pretty much level with the standard
sump.

Therefore depending on your installation you still might have a few clearence issues. I wont really be able to tell untill the wheels are back on and
its sitting on the deck. Im actually going to lift the gearbox up a couple of inches so clearence shouldnt be too much of a problem, I hope....
Thanks, saw the set in your pic and yes they will be too low. Id say I will buy set, just the black ceramic coated SS and modify them.
Do you really need them???? Alot of bog hp wrx's are still using factory headers! Lighter and look nicer definately!

I heard bad things about 90% of aftermarket headers and the other 10% cost close to a grand. also been told to port the factory ones and use some sort of ceramic coat to unleash the full potential of the stock headers but all this will do is increase spool up time I think.

When I removed my stock headers I noticed an area in the header flange where a bit of match porting might help.
I've seen articles in magazines where they force an abrasive media though a head or manifold to port them, maybe this is better than tube headers.
In our applications most of these headers look to low. If your really serious about going tube headers you can always make a set up, I made my own for
my old WBX and it wasn't that hard.

I've heard of up to 30bhp being gained from matchporting the stock manifolds which is what I plan to do...
