heres the info.
1971-200hp EJ25 SuperBeetle-dropped!!!! Price: drop AGAIN $5k obo over 5k worth of parts on the car!!
Im selling the project due to limited funds. i go to college and have been working on this project for over 2 months now. i didnt think at first that
their would be too much work involved....i was dead wrong!! so before the critics start low-balling me to death....let me explain what ive done and
hopefully youll understand why my price is where it is.
first, the motor was purchased from Nippon motors here in Socal with an estimated 40 to 50k on it. a real gem. it had no leaks and no probs. pretty
much brand new if you ask me. i purchased a Stinger Standalone fuel management system from Outfront Motorsports in Buena Park. running 91 octane this
puts the power output at about 200hp. the primary headers were fabbed by them as well, and it now runs a custom fabbed 2.5" exhaust system with mondo
muffler. they also supplied me with the reversed intake manifold and the alternator relocation bracket. i recently replaced the valve cover seals and
planned on putting on an oil pan seal. also the oil pan was shortened by Outfront as well.
the transmission is a Super Street IRS setup from Rancho with 3.88 r/p and a heavy duty superbeetle 1st. its also got a super diff, welded gears, and
heavy duty side plate.....more than enough to handle the power. im running the front and rear trans strap kits as well with the pads for a quieter
ride. urethane mounts were used to mount the trans and motor. the rear shocks were replaced with heavy duty KYB's, of which i ordered one too many.
so you get an extra one.
I also have a intermediate shaft and BRAND NEW steering box installed as well. the interior is in pretty good condition considering its only been
redone once ever. there are some tears here and there however. im running a water temp guage(not mounted yet) to the dash. i also am running a custom
fabbed surge tank with an in tank walbro 255lph pump and a facet charge pump out of tank for that extra flow. fuel lines are 3/8'' supply, 5/16"
return.
the radiator setup is all custom and is wired to switch on at a set temp by the ecu. the front suspension has a pair of adjustable struts and sway bar
from topline. there is also a strut tower brace installed as well. it has disc brakes all around and some good condition empi eight spokes. i have a 1
3/4" merged header i need to rid myself of as well along with a compatible stinger.
as for the conversion itself, i used a KEP adapter and kennedy stage two clutch setup.
so thats it i think. the car runs awesome. its extremely fast and not too loud. the little things are killing my wallet though. and im going broke
fast. this is my last semester at school and this project has done nothing but distract me!! i love her to death but im considering offers to a good
owner who can finish the job or just use the car for parts. only thing is I DONT WISH TO PART IT OUT. i was told this car should run low 13's all day
on this setup. faster on slicks--and drive to vegas and back no probs. a true street/strip car.
so if youd like a fast and reliable daily driver. this is it. show me your best offer. serious offers only please. thanks.
vince.
head gaskets have been replaced with updated ones.
