Bugger! EA81 different to EA71

Pulled my car to bits for a transplant. Had an EA71 adaptor plate on an old motor so thought I'd buy a EA81 motor and use that. Wrong. Theyre
different, I'm not happy, they look like the same motor. Thought I'd let people know.

best up grade to the ej22 motor heaps more power & a better motor

Actually I'm thinking V6 Commodore motor.

ea81 is different to ea82 as well despite advice otherwise

I had the same issue replacing a EA71 with an EA81 in a subie back in the '80s. IIRC, I fixed the difference by putting a spacer between the
crankshaft and flywheel. The flange bolt pattern was the same. It was a long time ago, though, and I might have forgotten something.
