Code Help P1101
flat_iv - July 22nd, 2009 at 12:26 PM

I have a 95 OBDII 2.2 engine and the only codes that I have after 500 miles is the missing rear o2 sensor that I have not purchased and code P1101 Neutral Position Switch. I have grounded pin # 50 at the ecu to simulate a manual transmission. And I grounded pin #78 at the ecu (neutral position switch.) Evidetly I have something incorrect. Does anyone have any insight to this code. Any help would be appreciated. Also searched the subaruVanagon site and ShopTalk Forums.

Thanks

Yeah, I searched all the electrical archives and the general forum. I did get a few replies. Seems the ecu just wants to see a break in the signal. I am now trying to see if it wants to see a break in a ground or a break of 12 volts positive when the clutch is depressed. I am going to assume its a ground and the ecu doesnt want to see a 12 volt source. Since the speed sensor is just looking for a broken ground signal. I am using a NPN switch as a speed sensor and reading the wheel studs.

ill have a look when i get home cos ive read it in there somewhere

from memory i think the trick was to ground the neutral switch and hook the inhibitor switch to the handbrake warning light

so its grounded the same as the tranny being in park only for starting

altho that was for OBD I
OBD II may be different?
